Is there really going to be a FX5900 coming out soon, or is that just a rumor?

and whats the diffrence in it. it better not be higher core speeds or otherwise theyll need a cooler that takes up 2 slots :)
in the pic I saw it took up 2 pci slots just like the 5800, but here is no exhaust, its all just on the card... you know what im trying to say?

It has slower core and memory speeds. They went from DDRII to DDRI.
(That is a good thing, as DDRI will outperform DDRII@ similiar speeds)
However, nVidia finally added a new 256bit DDR bus. It should hang very close to the current R9800PRO in apples to apples comparisons.

I'd take those scores w/ a grain of salt, as rumours have it that Nvidia may be up to their old driver tricks.
I'm going to wait until reviews are made that give both cards the same instruction set before making a conclusion.:)
www.tomshardware.com has theres up now
nice find, didn't know of those yet
as does anandtech and HardOCP

I heard the performance on it is better in 3d mark 2k3 but in games liek ut2k3 it gets beaten by the R9800Pro. In DX9 things it is supposed to do very well in though (3D Mark).

The FX5900 looks really nice though. Much more refinement and much better performance.

....I agree...they made a mistake with the 5800...but atleast they learned from their mistake...and I wouldn't say they sucked.....just ATI whooped booty now nvidia has to attempt to recapture the market:D

Yes and I hope that people dont start bashing it just because it has the FX name. Ooops, already happened. Such a shame... And we give flack to those people who buy comp parts without being well informed  Ohwell.
titan, funny thing though, check the benches, the 5800 now keeps pace with even the 9800, it was a driver issue

Well I have been preeching that the drivers were a huge contributor to ithe FX lines' performance but I still dont think the 5600 would keep up with the R9800 Pro.
