Sounds like you might need better case cooling. You always reap better CPU temps with better case cooling. It doesn't sound like the CPU is too hot. But the cooler the better, right?

No, I don't think it's too hot. It's more like normal temperature for a Tbird if U have some cheap cooler.

hell i,m not sure what the cpu fan is , its supposed to cool upto 1.4 gb tho , can u recommend another 1 ?
u definatly would recommend a case fan as well then ?

For a T-bird, you REALLY NEED a case fan. Do you have a fan in the front of your case, pulling air in? If not, you MUST have one. Beyond that, I'd recommend another fan on the back if you have a mounting for one. That one should be an exhaust fan (blowing out).

As far as chip coolers, if you want to upgrade, I recommend the Chrome Orb if you won't be doing any severe overclocking. The GlobalWin FOP38 works well, but it's LOUD. THere are many others out there, but for the dollar-conscious, the Chrome Orb offers good performance for a very fair price. AND it looks cool as hell!!

FOP-32 is a feww buck more and it ALOT better cooler than ANY ORB

besides everyone knows that ORB+AMD=DEAD,CRUSH CPUs

Hey, I've got the MSI K7T Pro 2-A, and I get the same reading about the case being open using PC Alert III. Well, I'm using an ALPHA PAL6035 HS with a Delta 38CFM fan sucking air from the heatsink with two Sunon 80mm fans (one intake/one exhaust). Right now, my cpu temp is 42*C/107F and my case is 30*C/86*F. Oh yeah, I'm running a Duron 600@950 using 1.800v.
