Ok well I haven't ever updated the driver on this computer because there wasn't any need to really but when i reformated and reinstalled windows xp home. I got my cd out that came with the alienware 51m computer and reinstalled all the drivers. Then the next time I restarted the computer a bubble popped up in the system tray saying that some of the hardware wasn't compatible or something of that sort. Not really sure because i didn't right it down. But when I went to it it said the video card driver wasn't supported. (video card is Radeon mobility 7500) So i went to the ati site and looked up the new driver and it showed to download "ATI catalyst 3.2" So I unstalled the current driver as it said in the insturctions and restarted and precedded to install and it seems as if everything is going fine when a pop up shows up saying "INF ERROR - Video Driver Not Found" then about 3 seconds after I click ok on the pop up another one comes up and states "Setup was unable to complete the installation, try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup" So then i installed the old driver, Restarted, and the bubble in the system tray came back, and then I tried to install the new Without unistalling the old one and the same thing happened. SO im Stuck here. If you can help or have any suggestions it would be greatly apprectiated.
Sorry It was so long. Felt necessary to explain the steps I went through.
