View Full Version : p4 temps
what is the max temp of a p4 running at 2.4Ghz
You never bothered to used the search function, did you?
Let's say 64 C. But Abit mobos show much higher temps than, say, Asus. Asus reports 50 C when Abit says above 60.

depends on the cooling
ill use the search next time
the tower is a gateway and the cooling is stock
probly around 45-50 full load.
stock coolers are pretty sucky.
My opion is that I don't like my rigs running over 50C,even on a hot day.........I try to keep them as low as I can,I just increase case cooling til I get under 50C.

My stock Intel HS it 30c Idle 41c Full load overclocked from 2.4Ghz to 2.7Ghz (150x18 stock voltage). What's this about stock coolers sucking? :p
2.7ghz isn't really an o/c for a 2.4b
get that puppy to 3.4ghz then tell me how good that heatsink is. ;)

Hmmm, my 2.53 in an Intel D845EPT2 board, in a case with 3 80mm fans and no side is running at up to 60c load on stock HSF, the side of the PC where the proc is gets hot to touch! Perhaps I should take it out of that non-ventilated cupboard with my switch and router in! (SETI cruncher)
I also ran a P4 1.8A in an Intel 845 board for about a week crunching SETI with NO PROCESSOR FAN, before I noticed. It is totally fine, to be honest I hadnt even noticed any reduction in SETI WU times (although I am pretty sure it would have been thermally throttling), anyway, I sold that rig now and its still going strong!
