I am new to overclocking and trying to learn, so bare with me please.

What is a good tempature to see the Duron 600 overclocked to 900mhz? What tempature do I get concerned that I need better air flow at? What should I use to to simulate the cpu working ? I used the sandra 2001 and ran the cpu & multimedia benchmark continuously and noticed my cpu temp up to 107 degrees within 20 minutes. Is this too hot for it?

What is the proper way to test the tempature? and what are the proper tempatures I should see at different loads.

Any information and suggestions would be appreciated

Thats a little high, but not real high, Im at about 95 degrees idling along in windows, and i cant get above 100 running prime95 torture test, i recomend this for burning in cpus and checking reliability and maximum heat production, just do a search for prime95, its the client for the great international mersanine prime search <gimps> program.

107 seems like a very cool temp. Where is your temp sensor? My duron 600 @ 1010 runs around 118-127 at 1.85 volts with a crome orb. The temp sensor is under the heatsink just next to the core. I wouldn't worry to much about heat as long as your computer is running stable. It takes somewhere around 200 degrees to kill a duron acording to AMD. If you want better cooling I would suggest a Globalwin Fop38 and some silver thermal goop. If you have a good heatsink already I would bump the voltage up to 1.85 and try for a 1000 or so.

Well, I've got a Duron 600@950 (1.800v). Right now, I've just been surfing the web, not doing anything hardcore, and my temp is about 42*C, 107*F. When I had the voltage at 1.85v, My core voltage topped out at 120*F, and I was using SiSoft SANRA's burn in wizard looping the CPU test and multimedia test.

What kind of heatsink are you guys using. Also where is you temp sensor mounted. I have a little old chrome orb with the temp sensor mounted as close to the core as I could get it.
