I just started to try over clocking on this system and it will not boot.
I set the system up loaded operating systems and then took out the CPU to pencil in the speed sensing blocks. I used a 5H pencil looked good. I installed the CPU and CoolerMaster fan. The system will not boot. The hard drive spins up but no beeps no video and the system can not be shut down with the power button. I have stripped the system of all components except the MB memory video and CPU. Still no go. I cleared the CMOS, no go.
Do I have any options?
Is this a CPU problem or MB?
I could really use some help here.

try redoing the penciles, try wiggling around your dimm, try making sure vid card is seted propely in it's slot, and try uping the voltige and try making sure you dident bend a pin on your chip.

I have tried the pencil 3 times with no luck. I have replaced the memory and removed the video card. I can not change the voltage until I can get to the BIOS and this does not happen.
Thanks for your help.
Anyone else have an idea?

boy you have got me on that one. i did run into this problem once while trying to overclock a k6/2 550 ... i used an isa video card returned everything back to normal and cleared the cmos .... and it worked (well at least the system worked). in terms of your situation i would try to reverse the shorting of the L1 by removing the pencil lead and then try using conductive paste to short it. hint: make sure your are not connecting the L1 posts to each other.

Before you re-pencil the L1 bridges, you'd better erase all the traces of the old pencil mark with a rubber. Change to HB mechanical pencil for re-pencil trick.
