Whenever I open up a folder instead of bringing me into it's DIR it brings upa search window, even if i click once on the folder and then press <ENTER> still brings up a seach window. I have tryed going into "folder options, and resetting them al lback to default, but it's not working either" it's getting annoying having to open upa DIR by right clocking and going into open. "Open should be at the top of the men, but search is :("

Every so often it seems the Registry entry for File Folders (Directories) gets corrupted, and the effect of this can be that 'Search' or a 'Command Prompt' opens when you double click on a folder in Explorer...rather than the folder opening. You'll need to manually edit the Registry in order to reset the default value(s)...Start | Run | Type regedit and hit OK | Navigate to the following Keys...

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT | Directory | shell

and...

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT | Drive | shell

Change the 'Default' String Value of both the above Keys to read...none (Right Click 'Default' in the RH pane of each of the above Keys and select 'Modify' | In the 'Edit String' window that opens, make sure it says none in the 'Value data' field). ;)
