HI
for the moment i have an Athlon Classic 550 @ 650 with Gigabyte 7IX Motherboard, with Golden Orb Cooler. Processor runs stable at 650 Mhz and 1,7V. I can go to 700 MHz but i have to switch to 1,85V and Sytem is not stable (Processor is really old, manufactured 24th week 1999). So i want to ask, if i buy a new Athlon Slot A 650, how fast can i go with my OC-Card. Perhaps i can run at 900 MHz with my Golden Orb ?? Please let me know what you think about!

If you are sticking with the Slot A format I really cant help you much there. I can tell you though that if you change from Slot A to Socket A (462) then you might be able to get a Athlon 800 to 1 Ghz or get crazy and buck wild and get a 1.2Ghz Athlon and try to hit 1.5Ghz (good luck on that one.)

Get one of the newer Slot A's. I have a week 42 athlon 500, the core is a 650 with 3.3ns L2. It runs 750 on 1.7V with the GORB cooler, but when it's cold here I can do 800 Stable at 1.75V, so I need watercooling. Just look around, some shops have some of the old slot A athlons laying around. Check the week number (look in cpu database). If I were you, just buy something BELOW 800, because of the cache speed witch will be limiting your speed above 800.

p.s. I run everything with standard cache speed
