With the voltage settings set to auto in the bios (A7V rev1.02) my core voltage is 1.78. Isn't that a little high for a stock bird to be running at? And can I lower the voltage w/o adverse affects?

The reason behind the slightly high voltage is that your tbird is designed for 1.75 volts, and your computer is set to 1.75 volts, but the voltage for the cpu is regulated from the motherboard's 3.3 volt supply line. Almost all A7Vs come factory preset to 3.59 volts on the 3.3 line...you can find the setting in your manual to change it back, but it really makes no difference, actually it adds a little extra stability if nothing else. So basically you have nothing to worry about.

thats right

1.75 volts is the stock setting

and it will varry a little due to board and powersupply differnces through out all this would

if your temps are ok then your ok

T-Bird 850 @ 1045mhz 1.89volts

and dont set your I/O to 3.3 volts

leave it @ 3.5 on this board

its not stable @ 3.3 volts for the I/O
