Hello everyone! I've had my system for a few months now, and after finally getting off my butt, I've decided to try to overclock it. My buddy built the system for overclocking in mind, so let me tell you what I have before I begin. Remember, I'm a complete Overclocking newbie:

ASUS K7V Motherboard
AMD Athlon 600
ASUS GeForce 256 32/megs
Soundblaster Live
128 megs of PC 100
(2) 40 gig 7200 RPM drives

Cooling:
Heatsink on CPU w/ three mini fans
Case fan in front, and back
(my computer stays in moderate temps. Around 75 F)

I've heard from multiple people that I could effectivly overclock to 750-900. I want to know what would be the safest, most effective speed to overclock, and how to do it. With my Motherboard, all of the overclocking settings are in the BIOS (I believe I'm running 1004, just updated a month ago). If anybody can either walk me through it, or point in the direction of where to read up on how to with my equipment, I'd REALLY appreciate it. Hell, I'll get my wife to bake you a pie or something.
*smiles*
Thanks for your help!

I think you should try to read the beginners guide on the Overclockers.com main site. It helped me a lot!
But what helped my the most was reading posts in this forum. I have read a lot, but it's worth it :-)
