Will these CPUs work in any socket7 Mobo that supports 2.0V Vcore? Will it require bios recognition? For only $60 I can get a K6-III+ 450 (which has 256MB of full speed L2 cache) might be fun to tinker with.

The 2 socket7 Mobos I have are:
Shuttle 591P w/ K6-III 400 @ 500
ASUS P5A w/ K6-2 300 @ 315 (It'll do 450 @ 3.0V)

I'm thinking of throwing it in the P5A. Yes I know I can get a Duron for much cheaper, and go much much faster. But I've already got the P5A and I need to tinker with something. I'll get a Duron when KT133A or DDR boards surface, not sure which, might wait till morgan comes out.

Hey jeff, iv'e got a k63+450 in my wifes compaq 5190 with a compaq board, i got it clocked to 600 @ 2.0v and used the 2x multiplier to get to 600. I did have to flash the bios to get support other than that it runs very stable with a tennmax mega 7 heatsink and fan. I say go for it cuz these chips overclock awesome, if i can get this on a crummy compaq board you should have no prob...... good luck :)

I'm hoping to get it to 690* (6x115) on the P5A (with my water cooling rig, and leufken peltier). Anyone got expirience with them on the P5A? I need to know ASAP so I can get the order out tommarow, hopefully. Thanx.

*720 (6x120) if thy ole V3 3000 can take the AGP bus.
