I want to try housing my two SCSI hard drives (18.2GB 10,000rpm U160 SCSI IBM hard drives manufactured in 2001) and attach heatsinks which will protrude out of the housing. and be cooled my the air.
The only problem is I can't find anything showing the thermal output of such a drive. IBM site doesn't have it, and I can't find it on google.

Anyone know (or even a slightly educated guess) the heat output?

All I can tell you is that they are noticably(and sometimes painfully) hot to the touch. I personally am using one of these;

to keep mine cool.

Between 25-40 watts per drive, depending on the model and if it is state of use.
