i have a Duron 800 and an Abit KT7 m/b (KT133 chipset). at the moment its running at 896mhz (112x8). i have tried unlocking the Duron by closing all the L1 bridges, but i still can't change the multiplier. i have even tried closing all the L2 and L5 bridges, as was suggested by someone.
The details etched in the core are:

D800AUT1B
AKCA004SWPAW
77797940114

can anyone help me to overclock it without opening any bridges and without making any m/b mods ?

Check and see if it has all the pins on the back....perhaps this is one of those locked durons we have all been dreading....

some pins are missing, but i *think* they are the ones that are missing on all durons (from the pictures i've seen anyway)

did you use a graphite pencil to unlock it?
graphite being the key ingredient in conductive lead

the bestway to unlock a duron is with a conductive pen pencil trick dosent always work

go here and use the search

My TB800 is only overclockable when I cover the first three of the L1-bridges! Covering the fourth one leads to a locked chip!!
Maybe this works with a Duron as well.

Dude, don't sweat, I bridged my 700 with a pencil, and when I would try to overclock, it didn't work, and I thought there was some problem. Well I took off the heat sink, took out the chip, and just put more pencil on the bridges, and voila, problem solved. You've really got to lay that stuff on there. Make sure you can't see any copper (or whatever the metal is), make it all the graphite grey/black. Also, using a softer lead, (H/B, B, 2B, 3B) may help. You can get softer leads at any art store. Good luck.

mine works fine. i used a pencil, and really piled the lead on, and it worked-first try. but maybe u used the wrong type of pencil, and if you want it permanant, use the conductive pen.

go to auto zone and ask for a back window defroster repair kit

use the conductive paint in it and apply it with the tip of a tooth pick

but i did the pencile trick 4 times before i got it right

just keep trying

dont interconnect them

look here = http://www.icon.co.za/~prozesky/tip001.htm

i've tried the pencil trick again and now i can have 8.5 so i think i'll have to get some conductive ink.

go to autozone or any other auto parts store and ask for a window defroster repair kit
use the paste supplyed with it and apply it with the tip of a tooth pick

Just be real careful, not to cross them over. Use a razor blade in between.

my unlocking pencil is a roseart one, them cheap ones it has the least resistance, and i didnt hardly touch the bridges just filled the gap between the 2 were it has been cut, i think it works better that way, like it has a bridge and it looks like its been cut with a VERY fine knife, i just put the lead in there,

i tested a few pencils with my multimeter by drawing a line on paper and the roseart one worked the best!
but im waitin for my 1700+ to arive! and then i gotta find the best way to unlock that...

i also have a duron 800@920 (115x8) and A7V133-VM mobo. i used pencil..nothing happened. the BIOS does not show any info about multiplier or voltage settings. does these mobos actually show any field after pencil surgery in the BIOS from where the multiplier can be changed ?
