Hi ppl,
Someone can tell'me a good cooler to my radeon?
The card have the original cooler and the performance sucks when the card is too hot. Is not overclocked for now because the place were I have the computer is too hot. :(

I pulled the hsf off mine and then carefully cleaned the chip. Used a hair dryer to remove it, not the freezer trick. Then I made a HS from a older CPU HS that is considerably bigger/taller and then mounted a fan from a crystal orb using AS3 thermal adhesive :p

It takes up two pci slots but runs very cool. I was able to up my clock to 324 after that mod.......and no more artifacts whatsoever. That clock speed is not very far off from some of the guys that are doing the extreme cooling stuff on their 8500's. :) I tried ram sinks also and found them to be useless. At least with my card. Still not sure how some of these guys are getting the OC on their RAM like they are? Must be variation in the chips.

Or if you dont want to get this involved, a stock crystal orb or Vantec Iceberg will work pretty well.

Good Luck =)

This was the very question I came in here to ask :p

How are the stock coolers attached? Would taking it off and applying AS3 help more so than stock?

I was thinking about getting the Vantec cooler, is the copper version that much better than the aluminum?

I have never really messed with my gfx card except for trying to OC it once but I got tearing in 3DMark, so I gave up. As per my sig, its clocked at default, 275/275. I dont remember how hard I tried to push it, but even pushing it to a mighty 280/280 resulted in a small loss in 3DMark scores. Why would that happen?

My card is a Saphire 9100, anyone have any success stories with OC'ing them?

Thx, Ardent

I have the same problem i guess. With 4ns memory i think i should be able to hit 300/300. I got to 290/275 with very little artifacts and scored 6395. Then i increased to 300/280 with major artifacts and got a lower score. Then i underclocked to 290/275 again and got 6338!!!   I pushed it to 300/275 and scored 6328 :( :( And then once again i left it at 300/270 and scored 6325  Gone back to 290/275 and nothing... so i leave it at 300/270 just for the hell of it. Annoying POS. I tried that 4 bank interleave and again it didn't help... that's sad.

What's that?

Try modding the cards stock cooling. With my built by ATI I was able to OC the GPU by 50mhz. You might want to ask a Sapphire owner what they have done. But it worked awsome on my card. :)

Bank Interleave... in the motherboard BIOS. I heard that changing it to 4 bank increases performance by 10%. Guess it didn't work for me.
