I am looking at doing some upgrading. I have two options.

One is that I upgrade my primary system which is a Abit KR7A-Raid w/1800 oc’d to 1700MHz, Leadtec GF3TI200 oc’d to 225/530. Then taking mb, mem, and vid card and make wife a new system and let the kids have her Abit BE6 with a P3 500 with a TNT2.

2nd is that I keep the primary system the way it is and make the wife a new system for as little money as possible and still give the kids her current system.

I have not been keeping up with what is hot and what is not for a while and not sure who the top contenders are at the moment? Also, are there new chips that are about to come out in the next month or so that will cause big price breaks on current tech?

At a min, I will need to buy a mb, cpu, mem, vid, case, and monitor. Could you give me your option on what you would do and some component suggestions? My budget for the whole deal is 600 to 800.
