Ok I have my new toy. I have plenty of air cooling, a custom built case with a 120mm, 120ac house voltage fan in the front; just say Wind Tunnel as the case is a full tower Inwin Q500h. Throw in the new Abit KT7 raid board, an amd thunderchicken 800, and the alpha pep66t cooler . I have it running as I type at 950mhz and 1.75v: In winblows 98 the MB4 reports the cpu temp is 28C, I have seen it climb to 41C in hardcore graphics such as UT or MechWarrior4. I want to at least get 1ghz, and Im thinking of going as high as 2.0v on the power. Two questions to those in the know:

1) What is the MAX recomended temp for a thunderchicken
2) Is 2.0v too much, I know the chip life is lowered but who keeps a system for more than a year or 2? :Þ

as long as the temp is below 50C you should be ok

i think you should get 1050 @ 1.85 volts easy

but if you go 2.0 volts you need a better cooler

that alpha will be heatsoked @ 1.85volts and a gig

i personally would try a Orfio cooler so you can get the best air cooled overclock http://www.overclockwarehouse.com/products.html this is where you buy them
and here is a review killing the alpha http://www.thetechzone.com/reviews/roundup/heatsink/index.shtml

T-Bird 850 @ 1045mhz

P.S. is that a blue core chip??????????
