Screw it, my amd thunderchicken 800mhz. pep66t cooler, and abit kt7 raid are holding at 1ghz. In winblows98 the current temp is 29C at 1.8v. I have noticed that that MASSIVE heatsurge i.e. 43C at initial win98 entry, then it drops off. And yes RAIN does indeed work in reverse on my system at least. Lends support for that battle. In any event I guess I will get my hands on a peltier and see.

The massive heat surge is probably because Rain is not running. I really wouldn't be especially concerned with a temp of 43C in any case. AMD Chips just run hot, 43C is not uncommon. AMD chips are also less sensitive to heat than Intel chips, so you don't need to worry about frying them as easily. I think they can withstand something ridiculous like 195 F (that must be something like 70-85C).
