This may sound stupid but I noticed that the Eheim 1250 has a 3/4" intake hose connection and a 1/2" out flow connection. Can the 1/2" tubing be pushed on the 3/4" connection safely?

Also, when hooking power up to these does it take just one molex connector? I do realize that there is some modding to be done to the power wire of the pump to hook it up to a power line like the PCI card adapter.
Also is the 1048 too little a pump to power a w/c system?
Here is a link to where I am looking, maily just for reference... http://www.marinedepot.com/a_pu_eheim.asp?CartId=
To adapt it for 1/2" ID tubing you will need a 3/8"npt x 1/2" barbed and a 1/2"NPT x 1/2" barbed fitting. It does not take any molex connectors, all you do is strip the 3 wires and insert them into the conenctors on the PCI relay card. The 1048 is a sufficient pump for most watercooling setups. I orderd the eheim 1250 for $60 from criticool.com they have the PCI relay card, too. Also if you order the fittings from them they will put them on the pump for you for free.

Eheim 1250 ?? an overkill WC system.... cool !!
You do not need an adapter barb. 1/2" tubing will slip over the 3/4" intake just fine. Depending on your type of tubing, you may have to heat it up a bit (using warm water) and keep it moist when pushing it on.
BTW As an alternative to a PCI relay card, you could also just run the power cord out the case to a switched outlet that also powers the PC. Saves room and a few bucks, and works just fine.

yeah, but where is the fun in making a relay, if you just run the cord out of the box? :)

Ya I did the same thing made my own relay with using an old power supple connector on the back it works great and its cheap.
