i just built a new rig and put in a radeon 9200. Win2k keeps recognizing it as 2 pci cards....is this because of Hydravision and if so would i be losing any performance because of this.. i have updated the drivers, flashed my bios and checked everything in the bios... i am stumped. wondering if i got my drawers in a bunch over nothing....

thanks for the bump, I have checked Ati's site for drivers, etc.
they have no newer drivers for the 9200 on win 2k platform....
i even tried their support and when they ask you to select a product their list doesn't even include the 9200....lol.
I swear its an Ati product. I still got the box and its not a brown cardboard box with ***New Ati radeon 9200 *** writen in crayon on the side...maybe they dont have support up for it yet,
or it could be the radeon family equvilent of that uncle everyone has... you know, the one no-one ever talks about.. oh well.
does anyone have hydravision installed and if so what info do you get in the device manager about your card. any help would be greatly appriciated.
Well, we shall jump in here if for no other reason than to keep this thread up top. One, download the 3.4 drivers and do the install. If 2000 has a problem with life then point it to the drivers and don't do the auto install. Have you tried the "add new hardware" function? Might seem like silly questions however the more you tell us the easier it is to lead you down a path to a cure. My cards always load up the hydravision on the first go however it is the last time I see it as I close it. I find it to be intrusive and not necessary as it can be accessed when I want it. I played around with 2000 some and some of the drivers (as I remember) I had to install differently such as mentioned above.
Now, you guys running 2000 need to jump in here and help out like the good chaps we know you all to be.;)
Hey, could someone please post up a link to some new 3.4 xp/2000 ati drivers for this lad? Guru3d does not list them yet though I know they are available.
Here is the linky for the 3.4 cat drivers. Hope they work for you!

Have you tried uninstalling Hydravision? Try uninstalling it (You can always reinstall it) and see if it recognizes it as one agp. If not then we know its not Hydravision.
Don't know about the peformance part though, sorry.
Good Luck

Thanks for trying to assist. I installed the new cat drivers, uninstalled hydravision and it still claims in device manager that i have 2 radeons and they are on pci bus 1. It lists them as Radeon 9200 and Radeon 9200- secondary. Also benchmarked with 3dmark and got a 6991 at default settings. Is there anyone out there with a 9200 that has benched theirs so i can compare? Also, how new is the 9200? Its workin good enough for gaming, but i would hate to be sacrificing some performance because of something i've done wrong with installation....

The Hydravison will not affect your cards performance. The output from the GPU can only be directed at one monitor at a time. If you look under the control panel tabs for ATI you will see that you need to select a monitor other than default to output the second signal (there are seperate 350Mhz RAMDAC's, one for each output (DVI or standard DB15)) so do not be concerned with it being installed as long as your computer is setting up the defaults outputs correctly.
As far as 7000 3DMarks thats a good score for a XP2200 system running Win2000. You need to turn off all the AA and AF filtering under the D3D tab on the ATI control panel to max out your score, and you could do some moderate OC'n with power strip to get even higher scores but 7000 isnt to bad for an 9200 ;)
