hi,

i have a duron 800@1010 / Abit KT7 Raid / 1,85V / fop38 / thermal paste.
my temps are usually : cpu 27C - 40C on full load (Quake 3, counter-strike...) , board 20C.
Since i ran the Seti program for about 10 mns, my cpu temp gets up to 42C on full load. Since then i had to underclock to 1000 because it was not stable anymore at 1010 !!!!
What's going on ?
What did Seti do to my system ???!!!!!
Please help.

there are a bunch of things that could have happend

yes

put some on the chip and run a razor blad at a 30 degree angel across it so there is a nice thin film of themal past on it
then put some in the heatsink and run the razor blad on it too

then put it back together

then what i did is find a 40 mm fan in a box-o-junk i have and i hot glued it onto the heatsink buy attaching the sides to the capasitors around it

it worked and broght my chipset temp down 10F

The Abit KT7 has paste and a fan on the chipset straight from the factory so there is nothing to do there ;)
