having trouble cliping my HS to my abit kt7 ! how much pressure can the cpu hold?

what kind of heatsink is it?

If it's one of those cheap metal straps in a v-shape that lots of heatsinks use, just try straightening it slightly with some pliers - I did that with the clip from my Taisol hsf before I got an alpha, and it made it MUCH easier to clip on - I know the heatsink was still contacting the core just as well cos my temps stayed the same.
