Hello
I was just kind of curious to know because i have asked some people the same questions and i have been getting 2 different answers Some said yes some said no.
I would like to know does overclocking your CPU shorten its life? If it does then how much does it shorten the CPUs life?
Thanks
Not significantly. Heat shortens CPU life more than any other factor.
But really, does it matter? Most CPU's are so out of date before they start to fail that most people have replaced them. I personaly have a P-200@275 that is running great after 4 years. Of course with the lower die size of more modern, silicone degradation might be more of a problem....

it will take 5 years to die reather than 10 years

it will take 5 years to die rather than 10 years
of course that's just a rough estimate

I ran my tbird in my A7v for four months at 1.94V, and it's still not dead - that's good enough for me :-)

basically, by the time you actually fry your chip, (unless you do something stupid like turn it on without a fan) a faster chip will be out that would most likely be cheaper than the the one you fried.
just a thought ;-)
