thanks that will save some time

say if you got a minute...

i read 1 article that said to remove the top of the socket and fill the cavity with the grease and i also read pushing it through the hole`s will work as well??

what do you think??

well i would seal some closed cell foam in the center of the socket

put the D-Grease in the pinm holes
make sure you get ALL the air out of the holes so get as much in each hole as possable

next seal the outer edge of the socket where the socket and board come together

make sure if you use a shim to put D-Grease all over that chip and shim (except the core) so condensation dont build up on the top surface of the chip or if you dont use a shin use fill in as much as needed to fill the air between the cpu and heatsink

i would also suggest
putting some closed cell foam on the back of the board where the socket is located
seal it to it too

anything else?

oh yea use all temp RTV from the auto parts store too for your sealer in all this

by the way
WHAT SIZE PELTIER are you going to use and what form of cooling for the hotside?

i bought the swiftech MCW 462-btec and a 52watt and a 85watt tec

i decided to get two just in case the 85 is to much !

i bet the 85 will be too small

but it might work

wouldnt try the 52 watter at all unless you like to see thermal meltdown

ahh... dont like the sound`s of thermal melt down care to explain??

im farly sure that im under qualified but willing to learn

the t bird put off more than 52 watts of heat when overclocked

if the coldside gets hot then the hotter the hot side gets
the the heatsink becomes heat soked and the cold side gets even hotter
with in a min. your in meltdown

cpu temp goes way up and up and up till it smokes

use the 85 watter
what sink you going to use
a swiftech/??

oh its watter
heehee

that looks like a bad azz block

go with a 156 watt peltier and take that cpu to 1400mhz

need 2 radiators though
