geforce mx 440

HI,

Just spent the last 4 hours trying to get the max out of this card...eventually managed to get just uner 6500 3dmarks (2001 se) out of it....with the following spec..This any good?

Asus v7333 - memory at 2.5 -2 -2 -2

2000xp running @ 1762mhz 12.5x141.3

512 mb pc2100 ddr

7200 maxtor 30gb

atek 440 mx clock@250mhz and Memory @450mhz

and tips on how to get that up more v-core is at standard.

that is actually very good for a geforce4 mx 440...

i think you've done all you can for the rest of the computer. the video card is the bottleneck in the system now... the pc2100 might be hurting you a little, but i am not sure how much because i have never used anything but pc2100 myself :)

what sort of ramsinks & hsf combo do you have on it?

You might want to consider upgrading the cooling on your card - perhaps by using a crystal orb heatsink on the GPU, or simply by aiming an 80mm fan at the card itself (that can shave 5c off temps :D Trust me :D :D)

instead of the crystal orb, stick a stock AMd heatsink on it.

cheaper, and it works better.

i have an almost identicle system... ill OC my card a bit and bench, without it OCed i just got 5998.

here we go..a little OC :D (why are people with worse systems beatnng my score!?!?!)

becouse my frined who using the same card can't play the battlefield ..

u got a very good 3dmark for ur geforce4 mx 440...
my frine donly got 5xxx only:D :D

BF1942 should run fine on that. I ran perfectly OK on lowered settings on my old Gainward MX460, so I don't see why the 440 would be much different.

i dont hahve it.. but i have been able to play any game i threw at it (not at the highest setting though (of course) :-/ ) that includes a certain ID game that we cant talk about here (but it waspretty watered down so i dont know about the version that will be released whenver they begin supporting it ;) ).

what i dont get is how these people are getting 8K?!?! i mean they dont have the clockspeed of the card so it could be mad oc'ed but some of their systems arent much better than mine, lower FSB and stuff... its weird...

The cooling in this rig os completely standar bvar one extra 80mm fan blowing over the ram\cpu. Going to try and get some better ramm..pc2700 maybes so i can ramp up the FSB.

Gret score crash there...your fsb is crucifying mine!..i think to compete im going to have upgrade the ram in mine to 2700 or maybes even better to get that fsb up.

I have an MSI GeForce MX 440 64 mb (Dual Head) 8X agp card OCed to 360/682 with a 3DMark2001 score of 9297. Ti4200 territory. No artifacts, no lockups, no heat problems. Running 24/7 for a few months now.

hrm... maybe i need to upgrade... i might just have to choose between a new amp and sub for my car or new mobo, proc, ram, and video card...
