amdk63+ 450 can't even get 450 HELP!!!

i just found and got a tyan s1590s trinty at motherboard with the lastest bios version116c via mvp3, i can't get the cpu over 3x [and 2.5x thats all] at 100 mhz bus tried 66 bus at 5.5x but blank screen, how can i get this cpu up to 450 and beyond, cooling is no problem, it runs at 300mhz no problem, i even tried 2.0, 3.5x , 4x, 4.5x, 5x, 5.5x, at different voltages 2.0 up to 2.8, don't want to fry cpu, any ideas??

If you are running win 95 you need the update from AMD to run at anything above 350. Are you getting any error messages and does it post? And what voltage do you have it set at?

windows 98, 2.0 to 2.7 at 3.5x to 5.5, but found that software where you can change the internal clock on the k63+, i set it up in my autoexec.bat to run, at 6x clock not stable, at 5.5x looks pretty stable, 2.1 volts, after allnite i tried to set the motherboard again higher than 3x but still will not even post>??? who knows?? does anyone know of a program that will detect the cpu temp. the via mvp3 has it, but there is nothing for me to access it, tried a couple different programs but i could not get them to run.
