please list how you popped the top off the k62-3's3

i am trying to pop the top off a amd k6-3+ 450, have another 450 @ 550, 600 is just a little unstable with chrome orb and heat grease, but with the top off, should be no problem,
What is the a good temp at startup, let sit for 15 minutes in the bios, i get 36c, does anyone know of a program that monitors heat in win98 for the via apollo mvp3chips, tyan trinty s1590s baby at mobo?

Removing the cap is not recommended. Lapping can give the same result.

About temp monitoring, you can use motherboard monitor (freeware).
