I would like to overclock this processor from 1.67 ghz to 1.8-1.9 ghz.

It currently runs at about 106 degrees f on full max load.
Idle it is about 97
I have been told they are safe to about 130 or so.
So i figure, as long as i keep it under that, then i have nothing to worry about.

I have never overclocked anything before, please tell me how.

I have a:
Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra Black Edition Motherboard
VIA Kt400+Vt8235 Chipset
Amd Athlon XP 2000+ Processor

Thanks for any help in advance

Please keep in mind that i have never overclocked anything before, and I would like an Idiots step-by-step manual to overclocking it.

I have a lot of computer knowledge, but overclocking is something i know nothing about.

Thanks

Go to the main site (www.overclockers.com) and read the tutorials there. They are very informative and will help you out a lot.

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!

if u do a simple google search you will find enoguh info on it to fill a warehouse. all you realy need to do to overclock is up your FSB as far as you can go untill it is stable. what kind of memory do u have? if u dont have at least 2700 than you need to pic up some faster ram.

is there any way i can make it faster and get video...:P

I know when I upped the FSB, i also upped the voltage again...
Maybe if i keep the voltage at 1.61v, and up the fsb another notch?

What FSB frequence are you trying to attain? Pretty soon that 2100 is going to crap out due to it's low spec speed.
