Yes yes, I know the AS site says it's permanent. I did a search and couldn't find anything useful. I attached a crappy HS onto my SB on my NF7-S and am now wishing I went for the Zalman copper HS instead. Hindsight is 20/20 :D
Just wondering if anyone has had to remove something with AA on it?

put it in an anti-stat bag and freeze it. then put a credit card on the pcb and pop it off with a knife. :)
I don't think it's possible. Although I've only tried once... (And I ripped off a GPU trying it just to inform you...)
Maybe someone does know how, but I'd definetly take AS's word for it... "Permanent",heheh. Sorry to hear about HS btw :(.

I like LittlePiggie's idea. I'll try that. The freezer won't damage anything on the motherboard? Like the capacitors or nothing? I heard they have fluid in them...

Well you heard right... They do have electrolyitic fluid ( i think thats wahts in them.. unless i am just remembering something totally different...) but it is okay even if they freeze once it gets back to room temp everything will be fine.
And yes littlpiggie's way is correct that should allow you to remove the heatsink

just make sure it's all the way frozen...wouldn't want to pop of your southbridge and feel it's room temp in the middle

It might not help you much now, but...
In hindsight, I believe that it is mentioned on the AS site that you can keep the general adhesive qualities of the epoxy and make it possible to remove if need be later on,
by simply making the ratio of the amount of AS/AA larger than the amount of epoxy you have ready to mix. (something like 60-70% AS-AA/40-30% epoxy or thereabouts, instead of an equal 50/50)
The epoxy should still keep the sink steady, but ought to be possible to remove later on if needed, without damage to components.
I've even read some recounts of people using simple AA/AS in the center of the core, and using tiny dabs of superglue just in the corners of the HSF to keep it in place...probably the chip/HSF would need to be lapped for optimal contact in that case, however.
