i've heard alot of talk about tbird+duron colors. what colors should i be shootin' for??
i'm getting a Duron 650 if strapped for cash, or a T-Bird 1.2GHz. ALso i wanted to know: are the gigs stable? like, i heard a p3 1gig caught fire at a store in my city.

Until now, nobody could verify any diferences in speed or overclockability. Duron core colors only denotes were they are made, cause all cores are made with aluminium. The only thing known to be right, it's the quality of the blue cores, cause they are made in Dresden, Germany, and they are the best! So, you probally will get the best quality core around. ;-)

Clearly they needed more cooling on that P3. Bet they were running it with no hsf or something crazy ;-)

Actually the P3 has a thermistor (SP?) built in that shuts the CPU down if the temp rises too fast...if it had a bunch of labels on it though operating at even acceptable temps it could have lit up i suppose. (they sometimes put waranty void if removed stickers on em)
