hey guys went to the local store and they had 5 blue core (blue minnie) 950mhz chips

well i got one and in @ 2.14 volts 11x111 = 1220mhz

havent even tried higher yet but will before the night is over

I still run a crappy P3 500@600 (how's that for a half-assed overclock?) and I have officially becom an AMD fanboy...

Azz, Have you had better luck with the duron's or tbird's. also My duron is blue and I have a overclock of 1102 with air cooling. I am kinda getting bored and need a new chip to fuss with. I am ready to get a tbird I think what speed should I get and I know blue is already better! also did you see the post from rob cork , where he did the mod and messed the resistor up, how can we help him find the value of that resistor for it can be replaced? I have looked everywhere for asus spec on that resistor he lost, I would like to help him out since so many has helped me. I was think of taking a onmmeter and running it on my asus a7v and finding the value of that resistor , would that work,?

Kat: what kind of cooling are you using on your tbird?

proze
01-13-01, 03:40 PM
i'm back, and that's some amazing news, azz!!

what kind of cooling are you using, and how did the voltage mod go? didja do it yourself or have someone do it for you? i'm sure i could hit 1200 if i had the balls to do that mod!

AZZKICKER
01-13-01, 03:49 PM
Proze bud !

i got a homemade air cooler

going water soon

have to keep the PC in the window to keep iot cool to run that much voltage

for the voltage mod i did it and it was easy the way i did it

used wire to connect to the board then hook the resister onto the wires

then hotglued it all stable so it dont break the pads on the board

i need a damn digital camera

i could do write ups on all of my adventures

i got screen shots from all the way back from the celery 366 OCed to 522 to today when i broke the 1300mhz marker with air cooling

write a history of all your oc'ing achievements... :)

do you think the core has more in it, or is it pretty maxed out? watercooling'd get you slightly lower temps but yours aren't that high anyway. you could even stick with aircooling... wait a moment... naaah. get some h20 on there, man, and see what it can do! do you have an h20 rig?

AZZKICKER
01-13-01, 03:58 PM
dude i posted 1424mhz and got to the windows splash screen and locked

ITS GOT ALOT MORE

going extreem water cooling

see how it goes and maybe a 200 watt peltier !!!

AZZKICKER
01-13-01, 04:01 PM
that homemade heatsink cant disapate the heat fast enough

its small but has 46 CFM of air moveing across it

also i am going to get a better heatsink while i am gathering parts for my water cooling system

proze
01-13-01, 04:03 PM
lawd, lawd, lawd, the boy's gone mad!! all this talk of 200W peltiers and sech is enough to give ya the heebie-jeebies.. sech mad overclockin' stunts only for crazies.. yep, for them crazy people...

AZZKICKER
01-13-01, 04:06 PM
heehaaaheeehaaa

well i think this chip has more

dont you

proze
01-13-01, 04:13 PM
yep, i reckon. sounds very positive that you can post at over 1400mhz!! my peltier experiment wasn't a huge success, though. azz, you'll have to find a very, very good, efficient way to cool the water that's cooling the pelt. that's my problem. the water get's too hot and then the pelt can't perform. i'm going to have to whack in 2 or 3 more heater cores and get a new pump. at some stage...

AZZKICKER
01-13-01, 04:19 PM
well im going to get the swiftech waterblock
2 10x5x3/4 radiators with 4 120mm fans on them tom leufkins resavore(aluminum) and pump (200gpm) and then anouther water block with a 64 watt peltier on it and a heatsink and fan to use as a chiller

i beleave this setup will give me 20F below room temp water temps to the inlet of the cpu waterblock !

if all goes good i wont need the peltier

but if i do this cooling system would hold it

then i would have below freezing core temps i beleave

proze
01-13-01, 04:24 PM
sounds like a nice setup. prepare yourself for condensation issues, though. on the piping and the pelt. this was a real prob for me with the high ambient temps we get here.

AZZKICKER
01-13-01, 04:28 PM
yeaq
i think the water setup with a inline chiller will work well

kat
01-13-01, 05:55 PM
hay azz just finished tinkering around with my hedgehog temp went from 41-43 to 29- 30 getting ready to pump this beeaachaa up to 1250 or maybe even 1275 wish I had one of those 950s

I cant drive down this week end got a wedding to go too but make sure you save one of those bad blue boyz for me ;D

01-13-01, 06:19 PM
What fan are you using? and what's the shipping to Ireland?
Itching to get one of those

AZZKICKER
01-13-01, 08:07 PM
so the hedgehog works good?>?

kat
01-13-01, 08:48 PM
well i dont want to brag ,butt every time i boot, i have to put on my long underware!!

delta fan ;D

AZZKICKER
01-13-01, 09:01 PM
heehaaheehaa

is that delta that load as everyone acts?

noise dont bother me

you seen my fan article havent you

whats you full load temps and your room temp

01-13-01, 09:41 PM
cool

im thinking of getting the swiftech one but man its 80 bucks

kat
01-13-01, 09:53 PM
seem`s like when sombody come`s out with somthing new , it will cost you an arm and a leg still waiting on the swiftech 462 and still waiting on the swiftech 462 water cooler

Hey azz what mobo you usin for this? you said you did voltage mod, can you only do voltage mod on the kt7 or does it work on others to? like the a7v???

proze
01-14-01, 06:14 AM
can mod the a7v, too. i think the first voltage mod was done on the a7v, over at tomshardware.com, but i might be wrong.

AZZKICKER
01-14-01, 09:06 AM
yup A7V is what i running just like tom did his

works good
except i cant take my voltage below 2.02 volts for some reason
i need to change that resisot
i think i got a bad solder joint
but anyway yes im running the A7V and i love it

I have some fun for you the azz...I am in the process of designing a REFRIGERANT COOLED HEATSINK!
the termal specs are phenominal! It will knock you down to 50f or lower...I am still working on the dehumidification sys to prevent condesation but it looks great so far..I'll let you know

AZZKICKER
01-15-01, 11:34 AM
i would help you test it bro...heeheeeeeeeee
50F drop in temps would be SWEET
