Ok i have a 700 duron at 950 solid at 29 degrees C ... i can reach 980 but windows doesn't like me but linunix does .... at a multipler of 7.5 i can run my FSB at 117 solid... but at a multipler of 9.5 i can only reach 103 (windows disagrees) any ideas out there ... ??? {the highest temp even with load is 31 degrees C} (the only limiting facters are my memory at PC100 and 1 ISA network card) ...

in search of a gig

You may have reached the limit of the chip.

yes that may be true but i was really hoping i could reach 10 x 101 at least ... i mean if it wasn't for those damn windows protection errors i would already be at 980 ... just wondering if anyone out there had any ideas why i can crank my fsb at a lower multipler (as high as 117 solid) but at higher multipler settings - 101 fsb is only marginally stable?

A few thoughts for ya. At 7.5x117 you are at 877.5, not the limit of the chip but probably the limit of the boards ability on the FSB. 9.5 seems to be the limit of your chips clock multiplier and at 103 you are probably at the limit of your chip, at least with your cooling setup. I've been testing some chips with a variety of HSF setups and I've found that the better HSF's can't get my clock multiplier up but can get me a little more on the FSB.

If you did the KT7 volt mod I'm sure you could get to 1000 - here's the details, with temps of 33C you can easily afford to go to 1.95-2 volts, probably higher: http://www.athlonoc.com/abitv1.htm
