Good show! See??? that billion dollars in testing equipment isn't a complete waste of money <grin>.
Ofcource this may backfire on Swiftech... As we all expect nothing but the best now, I mean they have Bill Adams!

Yes, we have lost a valuable (perhaps the most valuable) resource. Hopefully, BillA can continue to contribute his knowledge around the community but somehow, I don't think it will be possible. There is a thread over HERE (http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/showthread.php?threadid=6571) about him joining up with Swiftech.

I agree -- I'm very happy for him, although I fear the loss of his valuable insight. Hopefully, Swiftech will decide it's in their best interests to maintain an "unofficial" presence here at the forums through Bill.
While I've never had the opportunity to personally interact with Bill, I've always respected his methodical testing and well-thought posts. I hope we'll continue to see him here in this parts.
But no matter the consequences for the forums and overclockers.com, I'm very happy for him. Congrats! :) -- Paul
PS: Thanks for the linkage! -- Paul
I'm happy for him that he got the job, I just hope he'll review Cathar's new block before he stops testing!

I would've liked that too, but I think that the window of opportunity may have been missed already.
Hearty congratulations are in order for both Bill and Gabe. Together they will be a great team! :D

From the O/C's Front Page
I am pleased to announce that Bill will be joining Swiftech full time. However, as a result Bill will no longer be publicly testing waterblocks. He has kindly agreed to help me develop a testing facility to take up the slack - I'll be sharing progress with you as I acquire test gear. Congratulations to both Bill and Swiftech!

Yes, that's true for the public testing, but I guess I hadn't quite extended it so far as public posts... At any rate, whether he's listening or not, "congrats" all the same. ;) -- Paul

Dont kid yourself guys.....he's lurking about somewhere, Im sure.
Just how long it will take for him to "cut loose", is another thing entirely.
Where's BigBen2k at....he always seems to get Bill going!

Yeah, I wonder if he has a new persona here somewhere. ;) (He mentioned something similar in the thread linked earlier by nikhsub1.) Maybe I should start a new thread bashing watercooling test methods? :eh:

I'll say it again: Congratulations Bill!
Looking forward to the next generation of waterblocks from Swiftech.

Hey I am glad and sort of sad to see this happen. Glad, because its good for BillA and sort of sad because i dont think he can be quite so "grouchy" since he works for Swiftech. Personally I understood somewhat where he was coming from~a bit of frustration etc about how people get the answer handed to them or just an easy look up on google concerning terms and they dont really want to learn or understand what they are dealing with. BillA REALLY knows his stuff and should be a great help to swiftech. Sort of sad to see him not around but hey...time is money and he is very busy. I would imagine he would come around here now and then lurking since he stated he would change persona to somthing other than BillA. So, he is probably not gone. Sooner or later things like this happen, its how we deal with it and adjust is what really matters. BillA, thank you for all of your articles and testing as it has been a great value me and many others.

It won't be hard to figure out which one is him. It'll be the one that ends with "Be Cool"

Bill reminded me of the commerical, I think it was EF Hutton. When he talked folks listened. A number of forums will miss his expertise, timely discussion, and yes grumpy retorts from time to time. Our loss is Swiftech's gain, I hope they use his expertise wisely.

I think they grabbed him up to keep all of the non commercial waterblock testing results from making their blocks look not so appealing anymore......
It was the easiest thing they could do to shut him up. Kind of like buying and owning 51% stock in the company that does the competitors advertising....and then dropping all the clients except for you.

I wondered how long it would take before the conspiracy
theorists stepped in. :D
What do we have now? D-TEK buys Cathar's WW design
but fails to (so far) make it available. SwifTech "buys"
Bill leaving nobody left with a pro testing rig and the
time to measure water block performance. Humm? :)

If someone will lend me the 400 dollars to aqquire some of the intermediary equipment to test c/w and blocks ill do it :D

Hummm....., now that you mention it that is suspicious! Wonder if D-TEK and Swiftech might have had anything to do with the Kennedy assassination? Even though Swiftech wasn't started till the 1990s it still might be possible!

I doubt you could do it for $4000 but it might be a poor start. Not counting the years of experience needed to have the necessary bag of tricks and the willingness to bust your *ss for a single good data point.
You gonna have to point Bill at this thread Tecumseh! All of us waxing poetic bout him. But then he didn't die, just went on to make a better living I hope.

Congrats BillA, you were valuable, but hopefully you are going on something bigger and better.

Well, we do have a Texas connection via Bill. He did mention
a few times about serving time there in Texas. Or was that
just bad Karma?

I don't think $4000 would come close. It's not like you would
need a $650 toilet seat so you could s*** when you saw the
poor results, but precision AND accuracy costs money and
without the experience.....well what is it people say about
monkeys?
A better living, indeed. My we all be so fortunate.

many thanks for the nice words guys

I hate to start another revival but I don't know how this thread died as quickly as it did.
I missed the news when it broke as I wasn't around much then, but I had noticed Bill's abscence in the past week or so that I've been back.
Sad to see you've gone BillA, but glad to see you've moved on to grasp a great oppurtunity.

Yep I missed this threads first tour as well. When I first got interested in water cooling it quickly became obvious there was a sage present. That was BillA. I Joined ProCooling forum because of him, and one of the first things I did was search all posts by BillA/unregistered and read them all.. (all the ones that were still left) in OC and ProColing. Although I cant claim I allways understood what he was saying, it inspired me to try, and to think.
I hope his insight and razor like critical thinking will live on!!
THANK YOU BILLA
