I have a 1700 0310xpmw and crappy RAM. I was wondering if I would do better to have my fsb kinda low, like around 160 and have a higher multiplier, like 14 or 16 or something. Also, will this require a higher voltage? thanks for the input.

If it'll run, sure it'll work. I have crappy ram and can only get about 142 FSB so I am going to swap the L10's to access the higher mulitpliers on the unlocked 1800 I have.

I think overclocking CPU and FSB can be done independent to each other. You can run at slow FSB and still can oc the CPU to max. It is more an economic reason for getting new mb or memory or not.
Please take a look the post on page 2 Summary for overclocking CPU and FSB (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=187887&perpage=30&pagenumber=2) to see whether it helps.
