View Full Version : Getting better-hardmod
After many trys to get a boot above 900 I have failed.....But I did get my TBird750to850 hardmod/no dip-switches add to that 103fsb and its @876. With all the strikes against me I think I did pretty good. Its not an overclockers board and its great PC100 cass2 but PC133 2,2,2 it is not. Maybe I will try some other things next weekend........give it a chance to mellow out at its new speed.

That's a pretty good overclock anyway, even better when you take into account the effort you must have put into it. Respect :-) What's your voltage and temps?
Voltage 1.70 default for chip 1.75 (cheap chip) High for a 750?
Temps are an issue with this board sofar VERY inacurate. If I reboot I may drop 10f .....its on the high side now @
CPU 38c/100f
Board 28c/82f
Ambiant 23c/73f
I think I have to do better than a pencil for the v. bridge to connect.

If I get what you're saying, your highest temp is 38C, but when you reboot and go into BIOS it's dropped by 10f (which I guess would make it about 34/35C). That's nothing to worry about, it will cool down in just a few seconds if you reboot - the cpu stops pumping out heat but the fan on the hsf keeps whizzing round, so the temp drops quickly. With a max temp of 38C you can go to 1.85V no worries, just make sure your highest temp stays below 45/50C (50C=122f).
