On the asus website it says that the Asus A7V motherboard can only go up to 1000mhz. My question is if you overclock your CPU past 1000mhz or even up to 1.1ghz then will the motherboard run that speed? Or will it just say you have it that high but not run it that high. ?
Thanks

In my manual it has multiplier setting to go up to 1250mhz. 12.5X. If your FSB is set to 100 what ever the multiplier is set to you times it by 100. i.e: 6X=600mhz,7X=700mhz,etc.
But only if the FSB is set to 100. If you change the FSB everything else changes.
In other words the A7V can go up to 1250mhz with the FSB@100.

Also if you set the multiplier to 12.5X and the FSB higher than 100 you can get more than 1250MHZ.
Yes the board will actually be running over 1000mhz also.
