I just got a abit kt7r and a 1gz tbird. whenever i try to install windows (2k or me) it locks up. every single time.. the only things i have in the comp is annihlator 2 ultra and 256 pc133 micron or pc100 128mb micron( tried them both) and a 20gb maxtor. anyone experience this too? any tips welcome

make sure ya got a "good" 300 watt power supply to begin with..........then try to install win me .................

If you have an ATA100 Hard drive pull it out of the ATA100 connector and connect it to the regular ATA66 EIDE connector. I have heard of lock ups like this. A friend of mine had one last week while building his PC, and guess what he has... A Maxtor 20GB HD....

do you have the memory set to cas2 or cas3? just a thought. When I first got my system I had the memory set to cas2 and it wouldn't install, it would after I set it to cas3, though.
