this is just a note-

I have the hedgehog and a number of stock amd retail fans for my tbirds.

Lately I've been fiddling with all of them, trying to determine which is the most effective. It turns out that without the thermal pad (rub it off) and with arctic silver, the amd retail fan is way better than the hedgehog.

Don't believe me? The hedgehog wd crash in prime 95 @ 1272 mhz in 2 minutes. The amd fan can loop prime95 for a week without crashing.

I'm not sure why. They are both using identical amounts of arctic silver, the heatsinks both appear (I know, appear) flat, and certainly it APPEARS as if the hedgehog shd outcool the amd fan. But it doesn't.

One other note-

increasing voltage does not always help yr oc, especially if there is a heat dissipation issue. Case in point - I've never been able to go over 106 mhz on this mb @ 1.85 mhz with any stability. I just lowered the voltage to 1.75, and i'm at 107 with no problems. I'll see how far we can go...

I haven't messed with the Hedgehog, and I know a lot of folks swear by it but you illustrate what I've been saying. Increased vCore doesn't necessarily mean a better overclock. Even when temp's appear normal, a different HSF can make a difference.

Another reason (to me anyhoo) to have overclocking retailers that will test a CPU in that fashion to get the best clock possible for the consumer!

it's actually the smaller sunon, not the earsplitting one, the other one.

I'm pretty certain it's facing the right direction. The label is facing me.

thats sucking

also you need a delta 38CFM fan on that hing to perform right

im really not sure what your doing but I actually took the fan off my hedge hog(1ghz tbird before oced ) and the temp hit 53 and stayed there the only air moving was the case cooling fans I've also tried the smaller fan and it only made 2degrees difference43c

I run rc5 24/7

also the hedgehog will slide up and down quit a bit slide it all the way down for best performance the fan should suck(pulling air away from cpu) with shroud

the hog and swiftech are the two best preformer`s on the market check the reveiws
