We all talk about the temps we're running at, but I have been able to find very little info on the specified temps for Athlons and Durons.

What does a stock T-bird at, say, 1ghz run at?

What are the actual AMD ratings?

How hot is too hot?

Let's hear about it!!

that's way too hot. Seek better cooling. My box is a 1.2 gz oced to 1.28 gz @ 1.75 volts, doesn't get hotter than 106 F with a stock fan.

I keep my 800mhz T-bird at 950 @ 1.80v ... Tops out at 116 under heavy load. Chrome Orb, 3 case fans, copper goop.

I think 127f is actually 50C, which is quite normal for a duron or tbird with stock cooling. My tbird ran 59C when I got it, crashed if it got any hotter, so I'd say 60C is the limit for stability. I wouldn't be comfortable with anything above 50 really though - closer to 40C is ideal. AMD somehow rate the chips to 80C max - I guess that's the temp at which you start to inflict permanent damage on the poor thing, there's no way in hell it'd run stable at that temp... not on windows anyway :-)
