View Full Version : Duron o/c
How "good" are the Duron CPU´s to o/c?
Is it the multiplier I change or Front side bus?
I´m about to byu one.
Mobo suggestions, not too much $
Duron's are great when it comes to overclocking. U can change both the multiplier and the FSB.
Mine is running at 9,5 x 103
I don't know about cheap boards, I use the Asus A7V, but I don't know if u think that one is cheap

The plain old KT7 or KT7a are mid-price range boards (about 100-110 quid here in UK, general prices range 70-140), and the KT7 is a great board so I'm assuming the KT7a will be even better - 133MHz fsb, ATA100 support.
For socket A cpus you can unlock the mutliplier with the pencil trick, and you'll get the big overclocks by changing the multiplier if you get a KT133 board, as the fsb won't go above 110 usually. The new KT133a boards like the KT7a allow much higher fsb (at least 140-145 by the sounds of it), so you might not actually need to unlock the multiplier, but you might as well.

The MSI K7T Pro2A is less expensive dollar-wise and has a great suite of overclocking tweaks :)
This is very good thank you all
