I have had a bad time with gainward the first two cards i got were the cards that got the bad capoacitators on them and had the pink screen of death
so very ****ed off that i ahd too return it twice i got a nicer version the 128mb with 8x agp which were supposedly supposed to be fixed. when i got this new card the memory heat spreader wasnt on the memory chips instead it was on the capacitators right next to the memory, which it wasnt supposed to be, so instead of sending back i wanted to try it out and it worked great i had it oced quite a bit and it was working great till abotu a week ago, when all of a sudden i started getting terrible architecture in games, so i lowered my oc to safe mode settings but the architecture will not go away i think i did permanent damage to my card, but overal i am generally very ****ed off with gainward i am goign to give them one more try but i am not happy about having to send it back and not have a working computer for a week

well its your problem..who told you to overclock your card?
if you didn't overclock it, everything should work fine.
did you try flash the bios for your gainward card?
you probably need more cooling for your card

well it is the golden sample so it is meant to overclock a good bit i didnt push it past enhanced mode but i think improper cooling on the memory spreader might have somethign to do with it, but whatever it is it is broken and i am mad cause i gotto send it back

Hmm... So why did you stick with Gainward when you've already had to send back TWO of their cards? You'd think after the second card, you would have sought out another brand.
It's like that old saying, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

I'm finally going to be sending my Gainward Ti 4200 back to them for RMA. The random pink screens of death became much more frequent playing Il2 Forgotten Battles.
The first one I had became completely unusable, so I sent it back to Newegg right away. The replacement was a little better, but still plagued with the occasional, seemingly random green or pink screen of death. Oddly enough (though I understand typical of this problem) it was more likely to occur when it was cold in here.
I just bought an MSI Ti 4200 which is working great.
If Gainward sends me a trouble free card this time, I might consider buying another product from them in the future.
But this is their last chance with me.

You said "the chances of me getting 4 bad cards in a row..."
meaning you already got three bad cards in a row...acording to what you told us you got two bad cards and killed the third

well i got three bad card sin a row cause the third card had the heat spreader in the wrong spot it wasnt on the memory, it was a mess up on the assembly line, all i am saying is i took the bad card and killed it
When Gainward has their own software to overclock their video cards you would think that they would make their cards to be overclocked. They adverties the Golden Samples to be overclockable. So RMA it to gainward, I would...

EXPERTool TM is Gainward's performance tuning utility that allows the user to easily adjust the engine clock and memory clock of any Gainward product from nVIDIA's recommended default settings to even higher settings. Gainward offers the end user the choice to either run the board in "Safe Mode Setting" or at "Enhanced Setting" ("Golden Sample" products only, featuring a more stable design with faster memory) which offer enhanced real-world 3D performance for higher resolution. Performance turning is the most commonly used method among the ultimate power gamers to extract the utmost performance out of a high quality 3D graphics card.
They made it to overclock the quote is from their site. Here is a link to product. (http://www.gainward.com/c-1.html?id=18)
They made it to overclock and sold it as so, IMO it should be covered by warranty so RMA it.:D

no i am going to rma it, that isnt my problem and really having the card break makes me mad but what really makes me mad is the fact that i wont have a video card for liek a week and a half and my comp wont work so i wont be able to do anything on it

Well...although gainword says it's ok to overclock, they dont make the chips. Thats not to say they arnt selling you a product...if this is indeed what they claim then RMA it
