Advantages of A64 for everyday apps

Im trying to figure out if buying an Athlon 64 is worth my while. Most of todays programs and applications are written for 32 bit code, what increase will be seen when running them with an A64? In other words, is it worth upgrading to the A64 and new chipset if I will keep the 32 bit XP Pro and other proggies? Right now I have no reason to purchase an A64, so what Im looking for are some advantages of the A64 over the XP or P4 for that matter, thanks.

I thknk the atlon 64 will really shine in the future were there are more advanced apps and programs AND 64bit. right now, no. ;)
