Hi there, wonder if any techno genius can help me out. I am not very technical, and i recently overclocked my k62 500 to 550 by setting it up as a k62 550. I did this by ignoring the setup instructions in my motherboard manual for the 500 and following the instructions for a 550.

The only prblem is, although I do get a lot of speed out of it, my pc keeps freezing, even though i have adequate cooling.

I have a K62 500
Giga-Byte GA 5AX

PLEASE HELP

turn the voltage upto 2.4 or 2.5v and it should be fine but dont expect more than 550

hey yoda
u need to up the cpu core voltage to gain stabilty and stop the crashes lock ups freezes etc. from occuring also you may feel your cooling is adequate but that may not be enough
as an oc'd k62 run hot sometimes very hot m8 check in your bios what temps u are getting so when the machine crashes out re-boot and go into the bios and check the cpu temperature
as for how fast the k62500 will go it depends on how close to the edge u want to go!! see the posts to chipenstein the other day for an idea on how far u can push it

Thanks, raised core voltage to 2.4v from 2.2v and added an extra case cooler, runs like a dream, and after days and days of trying that is appreciated

I know where to come when I buy my next upgrade

Also does anyone know if you can overclock a TNT2 M64 or am I going overboard
