Well I'm setup on the A7V & Duron 650. Running pc100 196mgs, voodoo5agp,w/d45gig, Hsf is cooler master dp5-6h51 with thermal grease. Volt is set @ 1.85. I'm running rock solid @ 950. Is anyone running the same setup? I would like to know if your hitting the gig mark and if you are what are your settings. I can't seem to reach that and would like to see if I can hit that mark and run stable with my current setup. I can post over a gig but unstable in Win98SE. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

What temps are you getting? Bear in mind my duron only did 918 at 1.94V, watercooled - I had to do the volt mod to get 1000 (but it is an older chip, from August).

Last night I was able to reach 978mhz off this 650 and be stable. Current temp is 52c according to bios. Will be looking into better HSF for cooling today.

Lowering your temps to low 40's (quite possible with good aircooling) would almost certainly get you the gig - the Alpha PEP66 or globalwin FOP38 would be good hsf combos to use. Better case cooling is also a must, get some high cfm through your case :-)

Temperature is *everything*! The cooler the CPU, the more stable it is at higher speed (with less voltage).

As Rob says, get a good airflow through the case. If cpu temp stays up near 50C, get a better heatsink/fan.

My Duron temps are currently CPU: 32C; motherboard 15C. Cooled by ductwork to the outdoors. Cruising easily at 1046MHz, 1.80v.

the above opinions are all right. get yourself a better cooling solution, and give it some time. if you're up for a project, then watercool. otherwise, new pep66 or fop38 would be my choices.

have fun :).
