i have an athlon 600 and I was gonna do the pencil trick since i was told that it was locked but when i looked at the main chip on the processor all of the little gold lines(L1 bridges looked like they were alredy connected??? what gives(is it locked or not) Also the manufaturer told me i had a mobo that supports 200mhz FSB is that good, cause they told me my BUS speed was also 200 mhz so does that mean that my multipliers are at 3.0x200 or 6.0x100 p.s anyone know if my mobo sucks-trying to OC to 750-800..

WHAT ??? you have a slot-A athlon, they don't use the L1 thing, only for socket-A proc. Get yourself a goldfinger device or GFD. Great how-to on tom's hardware. ALL the athlons are 200MHz bus standard, doesn't matter. Multiplyer is 6. If you want to know about your MoBo,please tell us your vendor name, the type of your mobo. Read your MoBo manual carefully, certainly before overclocking, most of the times done in the bios. I would still advice you to read and study a little bit more on the homepage before proceeding with OC-ing. Good luck,

my mobo is a JAbil Kadoka AMD Mobo. The bios suck there is nowhere to chane the speeds in it-it there is then i cant see it-i sdownloaded TweakBIos but still no options to change speeds. I can get a Goldfinger-is that all I will need or will I have to Still sauder the jumpers on-like on toms hardware??
