Hi im thinking about placing some fans in my case i cant place any on the front so i was thinkin about placing 2 80mm on my side pannel as intakes and putting a 120mm 79cfm blowhole at the top of my case as and exhaust. what do u think of this setup and do u think the total cfm of the 80mm fans should be above or below 79 i also wat the fans to be below 37Db each
ok yea thats seems like a pretty goot setup, also can you put another exhaust in the back?
theres alot of great quiet fans at www.newegg.com check out the panaflows they are pretty good
also the higher the CFM without sacrificing noise the better
and the CFM would all be the fans specifically they all vary theres some Titan 80mm fans that are 37cfm and 26db i believe let me find a link real quick
**edit here we go on those titan fans

thanx for the reply. i know newegg is good but unfortunatly im in the UK so theyre a no go :( but i am actualy lookin at gettin some Titan Aerofoil Aluminium Fans (http://www.overclock.co.uk/customer/product.php?productid=16441&cat=283&page=1) which look quite nice :)
I'd recommend a bit more inflow than exhaust. Otherwise you'll be sucking dust into your rig in all kinds of odd places.

why not go with 92mm fans in the side of your case?

I agree - I just placed a 92mm sunon in the side of my case, as close as I could to my processor/heatsink. That alone lowered my temps about 5c.
Gotta love the dremel

i was thinking about 92mm insted of 80mm. i thought that more exhaust would cause less dust because it wouldnt give the dust time to settle?

Dust will always have "time to settle". Stool's suggestion will lower dust passage if you add filters to the fans, otherwise it's the same either way.
There are two schools of thought in door fans:
1. aggressive (biased)-- placing the opening right over the CPU to maximize effect where most effective.
2. conservative (balanced)-- placing the opening as low as possible, to spread airflow throughout the case.
Your strategy will require one or the other plan, there's little room for compromise. If you overclock your graphics too then you should probably use the second plan.

just make sure you duct the one over your heatsink.....

do u mean leave the fan on my hs and have the case one blowing onto the fan?
LEAVE THE FAN ON YOUR HEATSINK.
If the exhaust is too much higher than the intake flow, filters on your intakes won't help, because you'll be sucking dust into your case through(and between) your floppy, CD, drive bays, and any other hole(s) in your case. The exhaust has to draw air from somewhere, and it will.
currently on my crap rig
i have all (3) fans blowing out and its not that dusty
just crack the case open once a month with a little can of compressed air and spray the little bit that does settle
also lots of times ill jsut leave the side of my case off and get one of those huge box fans that are roughly the size of a full tower on there work like a charm lol
