where do i put the heat sensor on a slot A athlon???

guys i have put the sensor between the heatsink and the metal plate is this correct? where do u guys put it.

I put mine right next to the CPU core, between the PCB and the heat transfer plate.

A normal thick thermocouple will not fit there, so you need to use a thin one. Trim the plastic back until it just barely covers the metal and mount as close as possible to the core, but not on top of the core. Tape it down with a few layers of eletrical tape and you are good to go.
