hey,
Im running a Geforce 4 ti4200 with stock everything overclocked to 300/516? is this a bad idea and should I set it back to default? Oh yeah and is there a place to see what stock graphics cards run at? Thanks..

Only reason you should back off on the OC is if your getting problems like artifacts during gameplay or unstability.

Is there a place to see what cards run at what clock speed stock?
No comprehensive list that I know of, but you can check reviews of various cards and find what you need.
Stock clock memoery speeds for the Ti 4200, 4400, and 4600 are as follows:
4200: 250/500
4400: 275/550
4600: 300/650
A normal goal for a 4200 O/C is to 4400 speeds. A high O/C is to 4600 speeds. You're doing good on the core, you could use more on the RAM. Of course, you're at stock cooling, which probably means no ramsinks. Get some or make some to push your memory higher.

I see your new around here so I won't flog you with a Voodoo 6000, but don't let me catch you asking this question again!
j/k
:D
Realise, however, if the core is overclocked too high then it actually becomes slower than at a lower clock speed. Try oc'ing in 5-10mhz increments and a run of 3dmark2001 between each o/c.

Yeh it looks faster on paper but as some of the other guys said you should play around with it and see where you get the best performance. Are you doing anything more than stock cooling?

Ti4200 64mb- 250MHz core 500MHz memory
Ti4200 128mb- 250MHz core 444MHz memory

just get a ati 9700 pro and you don't have to worry about anything
Of course you have to worry about overclocking when you have a 9700 :D

MSI ti4200 315/650... completely stable, no artifacts nor distortions.
I have a few extra fans blowing on the card, it is a little hot, but besides that it is stock. I am about to mod it heavily, i am going to put massive heatsinks on the top and bottom of the ram, and a huge heatsink behind the gpu, and a very large hsf on the gpu. I want to push it as far as it can go!
