The Tom's Hardware guide makes it sound harder than it is, but it has clear pictures. You only need to connect the L1 bridges as athlonoc.com say if your board allows you to change the multiplier - it's only when you have a crap mobo that doesn't allow you to change the multiplier that you need to worry about the other bridges (that's when the Tom's Hardware article comes in handy).

A duron 750 ought to get to a gig, but take it easy - keep temps in low 40's if possible, and try not to go above 50C.
