View Full Version : I need a pally not a tbred - help, pls.
I'm setting up a new folding rig, and I need it to be based around a pally, not a tbred. The gromacs folding core has a tendency to hard lock the tbreds I have when I leave sse on, whereas I have no trouble with my pally. Seems to be totally MB/OS/anything else independent. Happens even @ stock. Other users seem to have had the same experience. Thus my 2100+ is actually faster than my 2 2400+ rigs. (sse rules)
SO
a) How low do I need to go to get a pally for sure w/o asking (is there a tbred 1700+, for instance?)
b) Anyone know of a vendor who will take orders like this? I'd love to order a 2100+, but only if it's a pally.
Thanks for any help.

newegg.com has 1800+ pallys for for $58
go to excaliberpc.com. They will tell you if they are going to ship you a Pally or t'bred...Good luck. :p

The code for a Pally is DMT3C. M=1.75 Volts.
Check the classifieds here. You will probably get a much better buy off of the forums and know if you are getting a palimino.

I spoke to a rep at mwave, and he told me the identifier at the beginning of the PN tells the core: AX=pally AXDA=tbred. Looking around various online stores seems to support this idea.
I wonder if the DMT3C is specific to a 2100, as I saw this as a part of only this particular proc, whether pally or tbred.
Anyway, thanks for the help!

If the website you're ordering from shows an order code of AX2100DMT3C, that's a 2100 Pali...
If worse comes to worse, I have a few Pali's laying around, 1 XP2100 and 1 XP2000 fully unlocked...PM me in a few days if you can not find one...
I've never had 1 problem with my 1700+@1850 in an old mobo. :)
And I fold gromacs.
Thx guys - found one @ newegg.
All set and folding 24x7
