I just bought a Tbird 900 running it at 1000mhz @ 1.8v get 28C idle and up to 35-38 under heavy load at 1ghz. Have Fong Kai FK320 case (only one case fan) and globalwin HS with 5000rpm normal ass fan. Couldn't stand the loud one. Case with one fan makes all the difference. This case is badass, has a duct over processor area pulling heat out. 28c idle and just running small windows apps is great for air cooled 1ghz. Love it

socket a boards are known for under reading temps

to get a more accurate reading bend your tempeture prob up a little and put just a smig of thermal grease on it

this will give you a more accurate reading

did that chip happen to have a blueish tint on it, instead of a greenish tint?

you might have a 'blue meanie' aka, a chip that really rocks!
